Shannon Robbie Ramirez

Shannon Robbie Ramirez was born in Houston, Texas.  She grew up in Baytown, Texas, and has been practicing law since 1995.  Shannon is licensed in the State of Texas, and also has admission in the following federal courts: United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.  Her practice areas include: Business and Commercial Litigation, Premises Liability, Construction Defects, Employment and General Civil Litigation.

Representative Cases

Ms. Ramirez has a wide-ranging practice area that includes personal injury claims, including auto accidents, premises liability, and workplace injuries, as well as employment disputes, business litigation and construction defect matters.  For more than two decades, she has handled cases involving claims for inadequate security, improper or inadequate construction and unsafe working conditions in the workplace.  She also represents general contractors and small business owners.  During her career, she has tried numerous cases to verdict as lead counsel on behalf of on respective clients, and has also arbitrated multi-million dollar claims.  In 24 cases she has tried, all but 3 resulted in either no damages or a defense verdict for the Defendant.

Education

Ms. Ramirez attended the University of Texas at Austin, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning & Development/English in 1992.  She graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1995, and was a member of the Order of the Barristers; Order of Lytae; and the Dean’s List.

Throughout her law school and professional career, Ms. Ramirez has received numerous awards and accolades.  She was a member of the several South Texas College of Law National Moot Court teams, including the ABA National Moot Court Competition, where she and her teammates finished 2nd Place in the Nation; the Tulane Mardi Gras National Sport Law Invitational Moot Court Competition, where she and her teammates were named National Champions, and the Starr National Insurance Law Moot Court Competition, where she was named one of the top oralists.  She was also named the Outstanding Female Graduate of the 1995 South Texas College of Law graduating class.

Personal
Ms. Ramirez is rated “AV” Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, and has been selected a Texas Rising Star. She was also nominated, elected and inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2016, which recognizes the premiere trial attorneys throughout Texas and the United States.
