Providing advice to our clients

regarding the interpretation of insurance policies is a key area of our practice.
Our attorneys have extensive experience with and knowledge of the law regarding the application of all types of policy provisions, including language in the following types of policies:
  • Commercial General Liability
  • Health Care Professional and General Liability
  • Automobile Liability
  • Excess/Umbrella Liability
  • Commercial Property, including Control of Well policies
  • Homeowners
  • Pollution Legal Liability
  • Disability/Occupational Accident Liability
  • Employer’s Liability
  • Errors and Omissions Liability
We are able to analyze the facts regarding a particular coverage request or matter in litigation and, in comparison with the language in the insurance contract, advise the insurer as to the extent of coverage available under the policy at issue.

We also defend claims for bad faith damages and penalties in both first party and third party contexts. We have successfully defended insurers from such allegations in courts all over the Gulf South region. This litigation frequently entails vast numbers of claims arising from one disaster or accident, and we are able to both handle the individual claims and manage the litigation of the claims from a global perspective.

The experience of our attorneys in handling insurance coverage-related issues allows us to draw upon an extensive knowledge base regarding a wide array of provisions and the language frequently found in insurance policies. We pride ourselves on both keeping abreast of the courts’ interpretations and opinions regarding coverage issues, and on effectively presenting these issues to the court to achieve favorable results for our clients.
