Stefanie N. Stephens is an Alabama native who has been licensed to practice law in Louisiana since 2018. She is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Stefanie obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. She received her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2018, where she graduated second in her class.
As a law student, Stefanie served as Managing Editor of the Southern University Law Review, Parliamentarian of the SULC Moot Court Board, 3L Student Representative of the SULC Grade Appeals Committee, Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Fellow, Pupil for the SULC Chapter of American Inns of Court, and 1L Section Representative. Additionally, she received Dean’s List honors for five consecutive semesters, and won “Best Team” at the 2017 SULC Intra-School Moot Court Competition. Stefanie is the recipient of multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the highest grade in the courses of Family Law, Constitutional Law I, and Sales and Lease.
After law school, Stefanie gained valuable experience serving as an appellate law clerk at the Second Circuit Court of Appeal in Shreveport, Louisiana and a pro bono domestic violence attorney for the Shreveport Bar Foundation. She relocated to New Orleans in 2021 where she began practicing in the areas civil litigation and workers’ compensation defense. Stefanie’s current practice areas include general insurance defense and insurance coverage.
Stefanie is a member of the Louisiana State Bar, the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Society, and Junior League of New Orleans. In her spare time, Stefanie enjoys traveling and spending time with her loved ones.
