Michael Edward Hill

Member

Michael Hill was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia.  He moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1995 to attend Tulane Law School.  He has been practicing law in New Orleans since his graduation in 1998.  Michael is licensed in both Louisiana and Texas and has tried cases to verdict in both states.

Representative Cases

Michael has a defense-focused practice including the defense of environmental claims, general bodily injury lawsuits, trucking accidents, premises liability and construction cases.  During his career he has tried numerous cases to verdict.  Prior to entering private practice in 2002, Michael was an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans handling felony trials.  While an ADA, Michael also presented charges to the grand jury for all major drug-trafficking cases. Thereafter, Michael took a position with the Louisiana Supreme Court where he worked for two years providing review and analysis support to the Justices as part of the Court’s Central Staff.

Education

Michael attended West Virginia University, and obtained Bachelors of Science in Journalism and Political Science.  He graduated from Tulane University Law School in 1995, and was a member of the Moot Court and school’s ATLA Trial Competition Team.

Personal
Michael holds a Certified Litigation Management Professional (“CLMP”) designation from the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance. He regularly instructs continuing education courses for industry claims personnel on the topics of bad faith claims handling, setting reserves, property damage adjustment, evidence, and resolution strategies. Michael is married and has three children. He plays volleyball in his spare time and speaks Danish.
