Charlotte Ann Fields was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and has called Houston home since 2002. Licensed in Texas in 2001, she is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Charlotte’s practice areas include: appellate, general casualty litigation, oil and gas/energy litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, construction defect, premises liability, and products liability claims.
Charlotte has broad experience in all phases of litigation—from investigation to appeal. She has particular expertise with pretrial motion practice, and has obtained dismissal of claims via summary judgment in a range of matters such as: serious personal injury claims against oil and gas operators, premises liability claims against property owners, and coverage matters against insurers. Charlotte has tried a number of cases in both state and federal courts, the majority of which resulted in either defense verdicts or favorable results for the client. As a result of her attention to detail and her foresight, Charlotte has gravitated toward appellate work and is frequently called upon to act as in-trial appellate counsel, as well as post-judgment appellate counsel. She has submitted briefs and argued cases in both state and federal courts of appeals.
Charlotte has spoken at various seminars, including:
Ethics in Claims/Medical Case Management, CEU Institute, Dallas (2015)
Technical Skills for Impeachment, State Bar of Texas 28th Annual Advanced Evidence & Discovery Course, Houston and San Antonio (2015)
Charlotte graduated magna cum laude in 1998 from St. Edward’s University in Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She attended the St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio where she graduated cum laude with her juris doctorate in 2001. At St. Mary’s, Charlotte was a member of the John M. Harlan Society and Phi Delta Phi.
An avid baseball and football fan, Charlotte also enjoys spending time with family and her Vizslas.
