Alexis Rose Topel

Alexis Rose Topel is originally from Chicago, Illinois and joined GLL through the Summer Associate Program. Alexis graduated from Tulane University in 2018 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration on Legal Studies in Business. After her undergraduate career, Alexis started as a Compliance, IT, Operations, and Performance Internal Auditor with the Allstate Corporation at their headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. During her time at Allstate, she quickly got promoted to Senior Lead Auditor and was responsible for participating in and leading over two dozen audits, including the Allstate India Audit which required site relocation to Pune, India. She attended numerous insurance industry trainings and conferences further deepening her repertoire of skills. As a result of her Allstate career, Alexis has a robust understanding and appreciation of the intricacies of claims handling, underwriting, and reserving.
In 2021, after a successful three years at Allstate, Alexis started at Loyola New Orleans College of Law and graduated in 2024 with a Juris Doctorate and a certificate in International Legal Studies. As part of her law school career, Alexis competed as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Competition Team and was a member of the Trial Advocacy Bayou Challenge Competition Team. After her 1L year, she externed for two federal judges at the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Honorable Janis van Meerveld and the Honorable Jay C. Zainey. In her 2L and 3L years she served as a 1L Legal Writing Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant to Professor Dane Ciolino. She served as the 2022-2023 President of the Loyola Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and authored numerous articles in the New Orleans Federal Bar Association Advocate Magazine.
Alexis is a member of the New Orleans Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the New Orleans Association of Women Attorneys. Outside of her contribution to the legal community, Alexis serves as an advisor for Phi Mu Fraternity at the Tulane University Delta Chapter and is a member of the Tulane Alumni Association.
Alexis’ legal practice is focused on Personal Injury Defense and Insurance Coverage Litigation.
